- Only members of the EPS in good standing may participate in the mail sale. All bids are
in US dollars and are per lot, as numbered in the sale list. The right is reserved to withdraw any lot prior to sale.
- All lots will be sold to the highest bidder at one advance over the second highest bid.
In the event of "tie bids", the earliest bid received shall
prevail. The right is reserved to reject bids not commensurate with the value of the item in question. An owner may set a reserve on a lot, but must pay the 10% commission if the owner buys the lot.
(Exceptions to this rule may be made for items of high value.) "Buy" bids are respectfully declined. "Or" bids are welcomed.
Under no circumstances will any information regarding bids that have
been received be divulged prior to the close of the sale.
- Title shall remain with the EPS sale committee, acting as agent for the seller, until lots are paid for in full.
- Each lot is sold as genuine, unless otherwise described. If, however, the lot is declared to be otherwise, then the purchase price will be refunded in full, provided that notification is received by the EPS sale committee within 30 days of the closing of the sale. The EPS will not reimburse expenses incurred for expertization fees and costs.
- Claims for errors in description must be submitted within five (5) days of receipt of lots. Any lot for which the description is incorrect must be returned intact in the condition received. Exceptions: lots containing more than ten (10) stamps; stamps described as with defects or faults, or lots described "as is". None of the aforementioned lots is returnable.
- Lots cannot be mailed out for viewing prior to the sale.
- Lots will be sent to successful bidders and payment is due within 7 days of receipt. This includes payment for lots submitted to independent expertization,
as discussed previously. All bidders will be charged a nominal amount for packing and, in addition, will be billed actual costs for postage and insurance.
When applicable, a small percentage will be added to the previous cost
to cover credit card fees.
- There is no "10% premium" to a buyer on the knock-down price of a lot.
- Placing a bid constitutes acceptance of the above terms.
